Seth denied that socio-economic changes in India would seriously inspire the sequel. ‘‘I don’t think so. It may not include those items except indirectly,’’ he said at an interactive session.
Asked what it was like to revisit ‘A Suitable Boy’, Seth said, ‘‘I haven’t read it. It’s far too big. I think I will have to do it.’’ He added that he hadn’t stopped writing poetry, only publishing it.
