15-yr-old killed, 4 injured in road accidents

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Aqib, son of Mohammad Kabir and a resident of Kheora, while the injured has been identified as Junaid Khan, son of Munshi Khan and a resident of Azmatabad, Thannamandi.

A 15-year-old boy, studying in 10th class, was killed, while four people sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Rajouri district on Thursday.

The police said, “A two-wheeler was hit by a Truck, JK02U 4788, at Khero Chowk of Rajouri town on Thursday. As a result, a 15-year-old boy was killed on the spot, while another, also a class 10th student, sustained injuries.”

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Aqib, son of Mohammad Kabir and a resident of Kheora, while the injured has been identified as Junaid Khan, son of Munshi Khan and a resident of Azmatabad, Thannamandi.

The deceased and injured were both students of a private educational institution of Rajouri town.

Meanwhile, in another accident, three people, including a police constable, sustained injuries. “A bus, JK02C 5186, collided with a truck, JK02D 5127, coming from the opposite direction at Narian village on the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway,” police said.

In the accident, a police constable, Vinay Kumar, Abdul Hamid, son of Mohammad Nissar, and Amarjeet Singh, son of Tirth Singh, sustained injuries. They were shifted to sub-district hospital Nowshera, where they were under treatment, when last reports poured in.

The movement of heavy vehicles on the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway also remained affected for about an hour because of the accident, after which a crane was used to remove both the vehicles from highway.

Police have taken cognizance of both the accidents.
