NC assails BJP for 'ignoring' border areas

On the contrary, Gupta said Omar Abdullah-led government left no stone unturned between 2009 and 2014 to ensure overall development of border areas and instilling a sense of security among them.

National Conference State secretary and former MLC, Rattan Lal Gupta on Saturday assailed the BJP for ignoring border dwellers, saying all the promises made by the party during 2014 Parliamentary and Assembly elections have proved hoax.

Addressing workers at Rathana village in R. S Pura this afternoon, Gupta said that despite being in power in New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir, the border people were deprived of much hyped bunkers and special recruitment drive for the youth. Instead, he said, the border people were exploited on emotive slogans, which speaks about the double standards of the BJP.

On the contrary, Gupta said Omar Abdullah-led government left no stone unturned between 2009 and 2014 to ensure overall development of border areas and instilling a sense of security among them.

Jammu, Jan 12: Divisional commissioner, Sanjeev Verma on Saturday convened a meeting with officers to review the arrangements being put in place for ensuing Republic Day celebrations.
